missionary visits

The missionaries came over yesterday to "teach" me... It actually went really well. Well, I mean I had a good time. sometimes you just need good philosophical conversation. It was fun. THey told me multiple times "you ask really deep questions" and "we don't normally talk about that". When the missionaries were stumped they would read a quote from the bible or the book of mormon or say the repeated phrase " I know my religion is the true faith " or a variatin of the same. On the other hand, the guy they brought with them was very intelligent with strong faith and an open mind. He was fun to talk to. I would go into detail but it was a two hour conversation and a lot was covered. There religion is fascinating, in a good story kind of way. And I do believe there is good in it, and for them it might be the best thing to help them become the people they are meant to be. When I see true faith in them, I can respect that and I admire it. But when they are repeating words they've been told without question, I feel very sorry for them. I think you can find both types of people in all religions though. Good times.

I think you are my role model. I want to bottle up your kindness and keep it on stock for when I want to smack people instead of being tolerant.

OH no! Don't let that cute, Montana house building, masters' student one back in the house!!! Put an upside down cross over your door with his photo on it that you snuck with your camera phone while he was there for 2 HOURS - that should do the trick. They'll start sending the ugly ones to your house.

Good grief. I don't have 2 hours to do anything, much less engage missionaries in endless banter. Go snowboard or something!
